Natrang to launch year-long theatre training program

JAMMU, June 14: Natrang is launching a yearlong theatre training programme aimed at fostering self-actualization among children.
A press statement said that renowned theatre artist Padamshree Balwant Thakur has conceptualized and designed the curriculum, adding a new dimension to children’s theatre in the country.
With his innovative plays like “Rang Badalti Duniya,” “Bhag Beta Bhaag,” “Hum Hain Naa,” “Udaan,” “Mere Hisse Ki Dhoop Kahan Hai,” and “Aap Hamare Hain Kaun,” Thakur has revolutionized the field.
The programme will feature experts from esteemed institutions such as the National School of Drama in New Delhi and the London International School of Performing Arts. The regular faculty includes Sumeet Sharma, a National Awardee and Master in Dramatics; Neeraj Kant, a veteran theatre artist with 35 years of experience working with children; and Gauri Thakur, a young theatre director and Master of English literature specializing in English Drama.
Additionally, the visiting faculty members from diverse art fields, including music, dance, and painting, will provide extensive knowledge and exposure to the participants.
The children participating in the workshop are Shafaq Fatimah, Tasmia Shafquat, Akshit Basur, Samrat Sharma, Advait Soham, Raaga Sharma, Adeesha Singh, Ruhaan Chandan, Jayaditya Singh, Supria Gorka, Shailaja Sandhu, Shambhavi Sharma, Sharvil Mahajan, Shranaya Mahajan, Javir Singh, Reet Gupta, Aryan Gupta, Adira Gupta and others.
Pertinently, over the last 33 years, Natrang has been actively involved in children’s theatre in J&K, inspiring and motivating thousands of children. Many of these individuals have excelled in various fields such as acting, management, civil services, medicine, engineering, judiciary, and social work.
