KATHUA, Dec 30: Two mesmerizing performances of theatre and dance hosted by Chenab Textiles Mills (CTM) enthralled the audience here this evening at the auditorium of CTM Kathua.
Presented by Internationally acclaimed theatre group ‘Natrang’ of Jammu, both the performances were conceived, designed and directed by Padamshree Balwant Thakur.
Earlier, welcoming the guests who included MLA Kathua, Rajeev Jasrotia and the executive president of Chenab Textiles Mills, KC Sharma said that CTM Kathua takes pride in showcasing the best of the performing arts of the region for the people of Kathua.
The first show ‘Mere Hisse Ki Dhoop Kahan Hai’ – a highly educative play by young artists, written and directed by Balwant Thakur, in a very sensitive manner dealt with the hazards of population explosion and very subtly highlighted every deplorable aspect of population explosion.
The second presentation ‘Celebrating Diversity’ a dance based show of Natrang which very recently was showcased in London was the ultimate cultural treat showcasing the immense diversity of the state of Jammu and Kashmir.
‘Celebrating Diversity’ conceived and directed by Balwant Thakur was  a unique cultural album of Jammu and Kashmir showcasing the variegated variety of different colors, rhythms, costumes, design patterns and artistic expressions through the dances of J&K.
The programme culminated through the presentation of a mega performance ‘Unity in diversity of J&K’, exclusively designed and composed to portray the harmony and the cultural co-existence of the people of Jammu and Kashmir.
