Natrang’s winter workshop for children concludes

JAMMU, Jan 12: The winter theatre and dance workshop of Natrang for children concluded with the English play “The Wizard of Oz” here at Abhinav Theatre on Thursday.
As per a statement, the play was written by L Frank Baum, directed by Neeraj Kant and choreographed by Sunny Mujoo.
It said that the children, who were trained in the workshop, exhibited their acting skills in the play and won praises from the audience.
Earlier, welcoming the august gathering at Abhinav Theatre, Padmashree Balwant Thakur, who is also the Director of Natrang, while referring to the winter workshop said, “this is the only creative initiative for the children of Jammu and Kashmir which Natrang has been endeavouring for the past over 30 years.”
“Aimed at developing the overall personality of the children, we have introduced many latest developed techniques of human development using the innovative devices of the theatre and arts,” he said.
“Theatre is the most magical medium of transformation of personalities,” he added.
He also appealed the parents and schools to promote theatre amongst children.
Those who acted in the play included Aarav Vaid, Advik Sharma, Daivansh Singh Rakwal, Isha Agri, Kavya Charak, Divyam Charak, Kavya Sharma, Nitara Sawhney, Prial Ashok Gupta, Sadhya Sharma, Sandeep Agri, Sheikh Hamid, Soham Sagotra, Tanisha, Aadhya Thukral, Aarjav Jain, Araiya Shan, Devangi Sharma, Gaurangi Sharma, Jeevansh Sharma, Kavya Jandial, Mehak Chib, Noor Abrol, Riya Jandial, Samrat Sharma, Sharvil Mahajan, Vihaan Pandotra, Shranaya Mahajan and Supria Gorka.
Lights of the play were executed by Neeraj Kant and the sound was rendered by Aarti Devi.
The show was coordinated by Mohd. Yaseen and the hall management were looked after by Kushal Bhat. The show was presented before the audience by Gauri Thakur.
