Natrang’s workshop ‘Application of Theatre-in-Education’ from Mar 25

JAMMU, Mar 23: Theatre group ‘Natrang’, is starting utility based theatre training workshop entitled ‘Application of Theatre-in-Education’.
This was informed by Natrang Director, Balwant Thakur in a press conference here today.
“The workshop which will start on March 25 wherein trainers would stress on improving and inspiring the overall personalities of children at school level,” Thakur told reporters.
He further said that the World has acknowledged that the theatre has been as one of the most effective medium of personality enhancement and acts as a boon in inculcating confidence, ideas, spontaneity, creativity and discipline among its practitioners.
“It proves to be the most effective tool if applied along-with education where it not only makes learning easy but also fortifies the children with various soft skills which help them throughout their lives. To be a trainer of such programme, one need to have a clear orientation of theatre along with an innate aptitude of teaching and this is where this workshop is aimed to fill the gap,” he maintained.

Natrang has been doing regular and meaningful theatre with children since 1990 and over the period of almost 30 years, it has developed several programmes for the overall personality development of children.
Balwant Thakur also said that Natrang’s experience of children workshops will also be shared with the participants of this workshop who are preferred to be teachers, teaching aspirant, M.Ed. B.Ed students and those who want to equip themselves with theatre-in-education programme.
