The recent heavy rains in Jammu region have caused extensive damage to life and property. Many people have lost their lives, and several others have suffered damage to their houses. Several bridges have been washed away. Roads have turned into nallahas. Many villages have got disconnected as avlanches have blocked the roads.
The Government should assess the damage and allot funds accordingly to overcome the miserable situation people are facing in the entire Jammu province. The officers responsible for executing the works should be directed not to lose time in unnecessary procedures, but go for ground situation.
The people are in trouble, their grievances need to be addressed at the earliest. That should be the hall mark of the present situation.
