JAMMU, Dec 3: Tall claims of J&K LG that abrogation of Article 370 will make UT power surplus with large scale production of power have fallen flat.
This was stated by National Awami United Party (NAUP) president, Sandeep Singh while addressing a press conference here today wherein he flayed the LG administration for hiking electricity fare in J&K.
“The recent hike in power tariff from 8 to 22 per cent has come as a big setback to the people of J&K. This hike clearly shows that UT administration does not take LG Manoj Sinha seriously,” he said.
Singh said that the administration needs to focus on libraries and should provide regular power supply to promote education but erratic power supply and hike in power tariff is to harm future of the students.
He said that power tariff has been increased for BPL category people and also for the people of rural belt which shows the intent of the administration to prove that abrogation of Article 370 was a futile exercise.
Manmohan Sudan, Vijay Chowdhury and Parveen Kumar were also present in the press conference.
