NAUP resents cut in ration quota of BPL, APL categories

JAMMU, May 14: National Awami United Party (NAUP) has expressed resentment against the cut in ration quota of BPL and APL categories.
Addressing a press conference here today NAUP general secretary, Shikha Bandral said the Government led by BJP is totally failed to provide basic necessity of food to the people of J&K.
“Instead of increasing the ration quota, the Government is reducing the quantity of rice and wheat per person for the whole month for lower and middle class people,” she maintained adding that the Government is providing pulses to Ration Card holders only for photo session.
The NAUP leader demanded that the Government must ensure the supply of pulses and sugar with rice and wheat to each and every middle and lower class family as per their needs and requirements.
“If the Government doesn’t take necessary steps to provide basic food to the lower and middle class then we will be forced to come on roads,” she continued.
Pinki Bhagat, District youth president Samba; Devo Devi, Block president; Neetu Rani, Block secretary; Pushpa Koul and others were also present on the occasion.
