Nav Durga Kala Manch stages ‘Biwi-o-Biwi’

JAMMU, Nov 16: Nav Durga Kala Manch today staged one of its comedy play ‘Biwi-o-Biwi’ written by Shashi Bhushan in the ongoing Comedy series held at Performing Art Studio, Jammu. The play was based on the daily anecdotes of a couple where woman power is shown as riding upon male bastion.
The play directed by Aaditya Bhanu was a direct satire on the man woman relation when the latter part overrides the male dominance and makes her husband play to the tune of her commands. The central core theme of the play was based on a routine affair in a household where a man is seen bucked under the pressure of his wife who is quite extravagant in contrast to her husband who is very miser and tries to escape from his spendthrift wife.
In the process, he is seen obeying all commands of his wife who trains several guns on her husband while keeping him under her control. Various hilarious pieces are enacted in the course that generate laughter besides giving a message across that though there is general perception about the women being discriminated in the society rules on the male dominance.
The artists who performed in the play includes Tarun Sudershan Vasson, Reetu Manhas, Dilshad Shazi, Anil Kotwal, Atul Sharma, Satish Bhat, Ashwani Sharma and Sumit Sudan.
Music was given by Kibu Bharat, lights managed by Ashish Bhat, Costumes by Parveen Kumar, Properties by Sunil Bhau and make up was taken care of by Reetu Manhas. The presentation was done by Shelly Rajput.
