JAMMU, Sept 16: Navyug Higher Secondary School held Mathematics Olympiad in the School premises, here today.
323 students from class 2nd to class 7th participated in this competition and the paper was set according to their class and standards.
On this occasion , Yudhvir Sethi, Senior Leader BJP was the chief guest.
The main objective of the olympiad was to identify talent in mathematics and promoting excellence in mathematics and providing opportunities to young and talented students to solve challenging problems in mathematics.
In an impressive prize distribution ceremony, the chief guest congratulated the prize winners and urged the students to show excellence in such type of competition as such competitions improves basic concepts of the subjects.
In Class 7th, Nikita Koul got first prize whereas Raghvi Gupta bagged 2nd prize and 3rd prize went to Harsh, Mehak and Sheetal.
In Class 6th, Palak Marhatta and Ansh got 1st and 2nd prize whereas 3rd prize was shared by Vanshika and Shoaid Khan.
In Class 5th, Sanchit and Anmol shared 1st prize , Krishna got 2nd whereas Kritjit and Komal bagged 3rd prize, while in Class 4th, Sukhmanjit Kour bagged 1st prize whereas Apurvya and Kartvya bagged 2nd prize and 3rd prize is shared by Manish and Yavi.
In Class 3rd, Tanmay got 1st prize, Ridhima and Mriganka shared 2nd prize and the 3rd prize was fetched by Ria Gupta, while in Class 2nd, Aditi and Sanjiv bagged 1st prize, Piyush and Neerav got 2nd whereas 3rd prize is shared by Eklavya Sharma and Ridhima Kotwal.
Managing Director, Hardev Singh Jamwal appreciated the performance of the student and lauded the efforts of teachers for conducting the Maths Olympiad.
