SRINAGAR, Aug 25: The District Development Council (DDC) Chairman for Budgam, Nazir Ahmad Khan, is likely to contest Assembly elections from Beerwa constituency of Budgam district as Peoples’ Democratic Party (PDP) candidate.
Speaking to reporters at Warihama in Beerwa constituency here, Khan said that he has never left the PDP nor has he been expelled from the party.
He said that every stakeholder in the area, except the National Conference (NC), has decided to support me. He emphasized that the NC has consistently played a double role within the People’s Alliance for Gupkar Declaration (PAGD) which has led to significant losses for the PDP in the past 4-5 years.
He said the upcoming elections in Beerwah will be a one-sided contest against the NC, given the strong support he enjoys. He expressed confidence in his ability to secure victory and continue to work for the development and progress of the constituency.
Khan has made it clear that he belongs to the PDP party and will contest elections as PDP candidate from Beerwa.
