PILIBHIT : The Chief Judicial Magistrate (CJM) of Pilibhit has issued a non-bailable arrest warrant against Kalraj Mishra who is Union Minister of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises in the BJP-led NDA government of Prime Minster Narendra Modi.
The court issued the warrant due to Mishra’s non-appearance in the court despite repeated summons on a FIR of violation of election model code of conduct after the Varun Gandhi’s hate speech episode.
The court has fixed October 8 as the next date of hearing and would be the last opportunity for Mr Mishra to surrender in the court.
Meanwhile Kalraj Mishra expressed his innocence in the case and alleged that the then government of UP had implicated him in the case.
‘ I have no intention to dishonour the court and will obey all the directives,” he said.
This is to be noted that an FIR was lodged against Kalraj Mishra on March 28, 2009 when Mr Mishra, along with his supporters, stormed the court and damaged government property in spite of Section 144 (Unlawful Assembly) being in force. The FIR was registered at the Sadar Kotwali police station. (AGENCIES)
