NC adopting discriminatory approach towards poor section of society: Manjit Singh

SAMBA, Nov 2: Accusing sitting National Conference (NC) MLA of discriminating down trodden population in villages of Bari Brahmana, Meen Sarkar, Meen Charkan and Bari-Bodhari, former Minister and senior Congress leader Manjit Singh alleged that areas like Meen Sarkar, Meen Charkan, Bari, Badhori etc have been facing under development due to negligence.
Addressing people in Meen Sarkar, Singh after listening to the grievances of the people, said the Government has released funds for the development of the villages which include supply of adequate drinking water to the people.
However, the people were not given benefit of the schemes launched by the Government forcing them to live without drinking water for over a month.
“People in these villages of Meen Sarkar have to wait for over 15 day to a month to get drinking water supply,” he alleged, while maintaining that the poor people have to arrange drinking water tank from their own pockets.
He appealed to the people to give a chance to Congress so that developmental works could be taken up. He alleged that whether it is condition of roads, drinking water supply or electricity the people have been left to the mercy of God.
“Mostly affected people belong to the scheduled caste population and the sitting MLA has not given any heed to their suffering,” he alleged.
Among others present were Arjun Singh, Master Thoru Ram, Gian Chand, Mansa Ram, Gautam Singh, retd Headmaster Som Dutt Verma, Vinod Singh, Vikram Singh, Ashok Bhagat, Parkash Chand, Girdhari Lal, Babu Ram Bhagat, etc.
