JAMMU Mar 31: Provincial President Devender Singh Rana today said that National Conference is committed to end the obtaining political instability in Jammu and Kashmir, saying that the people have made up their mind to call the bluff of divisive BJP and opportunistic PDP.
“The BJP can no longer now enforce its exploitative and divisive narrative as the political discourse will be set by the people, who have undergone most traumatic phase in the past few years”, Rana said while welcoming a large number of people from different parts of the Jammu West and Raipur-Domana Assembly segments into the National Conference fold at a function here this morning.
Prominent among those who joined the party along with their associates included Sandeep Singh Chib, Manpreet Singh Advocate, Havaldar (Retd) Ram Dass, Jagdish Kumar, Harish Manohar and others.
Those present on the occasion included District President Jammu Urban Dharamveer Singh Jamwal, Ashok Singh Manhas, Sucha Singh, Shabir Sambyal and others.
Rana said joining of cross section of people into the National Conference reflects their trust in the party that has all along remained in the forefront for welfare and dignity of all, irrespective of caste, creed, region and religion. He exuded confidence that the new entrants will play their important role in leading the state towards peace, tranquility and prosperity.
Later, the Provincial President undertook extensive tour of the Nagrota Assembly Constituency, held road side public meetings at Talilehar, Surinsar, Badga, Sagoon and Chilla and exhorted the people to come forward in a big way for voting in the parliamentary elections and ensure victory of the Congress candidate Raman Bhalla with huge margin. He said support to Mr Bhalla will be vote for National Conference leadership, which has taken a conscious decision of supporting the Congress to defeat forces, which believe in communal and hate politics.
Rana said that vote to National Conference supported candidate will be vote against those who wrong policies and opportunistic politics has left the people of Jammu region in particular disillusioned and discontented. He said the misgovrnance of the BJP in partnership with the PDP has deepened alienation of the people and generated mistrust between various segments of society.
The Provincial President was accompanied by block level functionaries of the National Conference during his tour to the constituency. They included Som Nath Khajuria, Ch Rehmat Ali, Subash Singh, Kuldeep Singh Jamwal, Mohan Singh, Hassan Din, Haji Feroz Din and others.
