JAMMU, Nov 24: Former minister and president, Jammu Kashmir National Conference, Central Zone, Babu Rampaul while discussing the current political situation with his team of office bearers emphasized on launching sustained campaign to reach common masses ahead of forthcoming Assembly elections.
He held a threadbare discussion with the party functionaries and drew a roadmap for a mass contact programme. He asked them to fully gear up for Assembly elections which can be announced any time next year.
Rampaul emphasized on the need to highlight the failures of current dispensation as people were facing severe hardships due to governance paralysis. He said that growing unemployment was a matter of great concern as the present regime has miserably failed to create job opportunities for the youth.
He said that before August 5, 2019 Jammu used to be called as City of temples when people were getting all basic facilities like drinking water, power and clean roads. But, sadly, after August 5th 2019 Jammu city was painted as Smart City with people now facing tremendous problems with regard to drinking water supply, electricity as even roads connecting streets are in broken conditions. Instead different taxes are being imposed upon the public on the pretext of providing amenities, but there is none to listen for redressal of public grievances.
He said that the fight for restoration of statehood to J&K shall be the foremost agenda of the party. People of J&K have suffered a lot during the past three years since abolition of statehood. He said that NC is fighting and will continue its fight till restoration of statehood to Jammu and Kashmir.
Senior leaders Dr Vikas Sharma, Adv Rajinder Chanyal, Sham Lal Mehra, Sandesh Shan, BD Sharma, BD Dalotra, Yashpaul, Nirmal Singh, Arvind Singh Jamwal and Aslam Choudhary were also present.
