SRINAGAR, Sept 4: The J&K National Conference Member of Parliament from Baramulla, MA Lone today said that NC represents the aspirations of the marginalised sections of society in Jammu and Kashmir.
This he said while interacting with workers and party functionaries after a detailed tour of Naidkhai area in North Kashmir Parliamentary constituency. Earlier, Lone toured various hamlets in the Naidkhai area.
During his day-long tour, Lone made brief stopovers at various places and interacted with people, who apprised him about the host of problems suffered by them. It also came to light during his visit that there is acute shortage of drinking water, and electricity in the entire belt.
The visiting MP was also told that there was great dearth of medics, para- medics and other associate staff in the local PHCs and other health care centers. He was informed that there is no road connectivity to nearby hospitals and medical centres, which further compounds the situation.
The locals also said that they are facing immense hardships due to crumbling road infrastructure in the area.
Later, while addressing workers, he said that the development demands of people are being forsaken everywhere in Kashmir, and the situation in Naidkhai was no different.
“The political instability has destroyed economic and societal fabric and kept our people isolated from modern development for almost a decade now,” he said, adding that only NC boasts a vision that can foster growth in Kashmir.
“Our vision of development lays emphasis on farming, infrastructure, public welfare, education, health and connectivity. The fruits of growth must reach the last person living in Baramulla, Kathua and Rajouri, if it doesn’t , it’s not worth it,” he added.
