JAMMU, Dec 1: Reacting sharply to the yesterday’s statement of Omar Abdullah wherein he has alleged that under the BJP-PDP rule Pir Panjal region has been ignored, BJP senior leader and MLC, Vibodh Gupta said that this is a baseless and politically motivated statement.
He said that Abdullah’s only intension behind this is to gain political millage. Vibodh further added that contrary to this, these are the parties like National Conference (NC) and Congress which have continuously ignored the twin border districts of Rajouri and Poonch and have used the people in these areas as their vote banks only.
Vibodh said that after coming to power the BJP Government under the able leadership of PM Modi developed a proper roadmap for border areas like Rajouri and Poonch and it is this reason that many developmental projects have been going on in this area. Historic work for all weather Mughal road has already been initiated. Water supply and electricity supply has improved a lot during past four years.
Giving details about various other historical projects which have been initiated during the present Government, Vibodh said that for the first time in history Rs. 5100 crore have been sanctioned for four-lanning of Jammu Poonch Highway. Moreover, sectors like education have created tremendous opportunities for the students in every field. More and more education infrastructure has been created and many new degree colleges have been opened in different areas. In the tourism sector also many new projects have been initiated.
While giving the details about the hard work of Government during past four years, Vibodh said that it is this hard work only which has ensured massive roads under PMGSY and other communication network development in the area. Moreover, with sanctioning of various new posts of ADC’s in Pir Panjal the Governance system has also improved and various services are being delivered at the door steps of the people. Vibodh expressed his surprise at the statement of Omar and said that he and his party are unable to digest the massive growth going on in Rajouri and Poonch. On this occasion Vibodh suggested Omar Abdullah not to do aerial visits but visit on the ground and himself how Rajouri and Poonch are being transformed which he always ignored during his rule.
