Addressing a roadshow taken out in Kishtwar and Padder-Nagseni Assembly constituency in favour of BJP candidate, Sunil Sharma, a former Minister in BJP-PDP coalition Government, Anurag Thakur alleged both these parties want to push J&K in turmoil once again which has been reflected in NC manifesto and statements of Congress leaders including leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi.
“By talking of bringing back Article 370, NC and Congress want to push J&K back in an era of terrorism and uncertainty,” Thakur said and added, “There is peace in J&K and development has been going on at rapid pace after abrogation of Article 370”.
The tourists are also arriving in J&K in record numbers, which the NC and Congress are not able to digest, he said.
Thakur said that heavy turnout in the road show and increasing support of the people to BJP from all across J&K shows that “BJP is going to form next Government in the UT”.
He appealed to the people to vote for BJP candidates Shagun Parihar and Sunil Sharma and teach NC a lesson by giving a befitting reply to Congress and NC alliance partners in the ensuing Assembly elections.
“After ruling country for more than 60 years, Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi could not come to Kashmir to play with snow and enjoy ice-cream,” Thakur said and added, “They both played with snow, went around Kashmir and had ice-cream after Prime Minister, Narendra Modi abrogated Article 370 which was the root cause of all problems in J&K”.
The people have suffered a lot due to misdeeds and follies of NC and Congress since decades and these two parties have again come together to bring back terrorism and violence in J&K, he said.
“There was a time when Kashmir had become synonymous to terrorism, stone pelting and unrest but now under the leadership of PM Modi, it is synonymous to development, peace and prosperity,” Thakur said.
“Today, we have AIIMS in J&K, IIMs, 11 Medical Colleges, NIFT, IIT and IIMC in J&K under the visionary leadership of Modi, he said.
He said Railway Line to Kashmir is a point of discussion all over globe now and much important thing is that youth of J&K like Sheetal Devi of Kishtwar have made the entire country proud. The new J&K is shoulder to shoulder progressing with other parts of country, he added.
He said gone are the days when the Kashmir witnessed continuous strikes for eight months of a year. The progress made in J&K can be gauged from the fact that before 2019 only 6.4 kms road length was constructed in the State per day and after 2019, 20.6 kms road length is being constructed per day in the UT, he added.
Giving PM Modi all credit of this, he said whatever guarantee PM has given to people of J&K that has been fulfilled by the Government led by him. He said PM has special love for J&K and all the balance promises will be fulfilled in this term of NDA Government.
Thakur said the people of J&K are reaping the fruits of all welfare schemes of Narendra Modi Government including Ayushman Bharat, PM Awas Yojna and pure drinking water to every household which are changing the lives of people.
The BJP leader said that the promise regarding restoration of Statehood to J&K will also be fulfilled soon as promised by PM and Home Minister, Amit Shah. He said Modi Government settled the long standing problems of West Pak refugees, PoJK displaced persons, Balmikis, Gujjars and Bakerwals, Paharis and women who were deprived of their rights by previous NC-Congress governments for 70 long years.
