NC distributes sewing machines, says it always support poor & needy people

JAMMU, Apr 9: The Central Zone of J&K National Conference (JKNC) organized a programme at Zonal Office, Rehari wherein sewing machines were distributed among old aged women on the pious month of Ramadan.
Former Minister and Zonal President JKNC, Babu Ram Paul was chief guest on the occasion. The programme was organized by Dr Vikas Sharma, Co-ordinator Jammu District (Urban) and Zonal Secretary JKNC.
Speaking on the occasion, Babu Ram Paul said “National Conference is a party of masses and always works as a frontal political party to help eradicate poverty and support needy persons.”
Referring to the sermons and advises of Sher-e-Kashmir Sheikh Mohammad Abdullah, Ram Paul reiterated that he taught to always support the helpless and poor people and continue going forward by maintaining brotherhood and harmonious relations with people irrespective of caste, creed or color.
He said: “We stand committed for secularism and social equality. The National Conference has a legacy of serving the poor and weaker sections of the society which was started by Sher-e-Kashmir Sheikh Mohammad Abdullah.”
Highlighting achievements under NC rule, he said lots of revolutionary steps in Jammu & Kashmir were initiated to inculcate the spirit of unity, integrity, prosperity as well as brotherhood to work for overall development/welfare of the people of J&K, in general, and especially the downtrodden sections of the society in particular.
Former Minister further said that ever since the advent of Jammu and Kashmir as a Union Territory, the condition of people has become miserable as there is none to take care of them in the absence of democratic Government in J&K.
Addressing the gathering, Zonal Secretary JKNC Dr Vikas Sharma said that the coming time definitely belongs to the National Conference and fervently appealed to the people to strengthen the hands of Dr Farooq Abdullah and Omar Abdullah. He reiterated the resolve of the National Conference to continue to be in between the masses to resolve their day to day issues and bring back peace, prosperity and welfare of the people of J&K.
Sham Lal Mehra, Zonal Vice-President, JKNC delivered the welcome address while Dr Gourav Bharat, Zonal Secretary JKNC, presented vote of thanks.
Others, who spoke on the occasion, included Arvind Singh Jamwal, Som Raj Taroch, S Nirmal Singh & Prem Kumar Verma.
