NC exhorts displaced voters to strengthen secular ethos

JAMMU, Apr 20: Stepping up campaign in favour of National Conference candidates from 1- Baramulla Omar Abdullah, 2- Srinagar Aga Syed Ruhullah and 3- Anantnag- Rajouri Mian Altaf Ahmed for the upcoming elections to Lok Sabha, Minority Cell of the party today exuded confidence that the electors of these constituencies based outside the Valley will join the democratic process in a big way and become part in the process of bringing about a positive change and ensuring political stability.
Bhushan Lal Bhat, former MLC, while addressing the meeting at NC office here today said that “National Conference has all along stood by the displaced people during difficult times and it will continue to do so, come what may, in the years to come”.
Bhat referred to the lofty ideals of Late Sheikh Mohammed Abdullah and said his cherished slogan of ‘Hindu Muslim Sikh Itehad’ will always remain a guiding force for the party. He said this spirit is needed to be strengthened by voting and supporting the forces believing in inclusiveness and secular ethos, for which the State was known across the globe.
Addressing the meeting, Pardeep Bali Provincial secretary Jammu, said the progressive policies pursued by National Conference Government in its different spells has brought about a positive and discernible socio-economic change in the state. Due to tireless efforts of the party leadership, the state had made a significant headway towards peace, progress and development.
Addressing the meeting, Jatin Bhat Member Minority Cell JKNC urged the migrant voters to vote and support the party candidates from the Valley, saying this will strengthen the pluralistic ethos of the State.
Prominent among those present on the occasion included- Ashok Koul, RL Malla, Sumita Bhan, Surinder Bhan, R N Fotedar, Veer Ji Bhat, Ashok Kumar Tickoo, Ashok Bali and others.
