JAMMU, June 11: National Conference (NC) leaders of Gole Gujral have appealed Governor Satya Pal Malik to intervene personally to ensure expeditious development of Gole Gujral under National Rurban Mission (NRuM).
Addressing a press conference here at Press Club, NC leaders of Gole Gujral said Rs 100 crore under National Rurban Mission (NRuM) for development of integrated cluster villages in Gole Gujral was sanctioned as per the criteria laid down by Government of India, over 3 years back but it is unfortunate and highly regrettable that work under NRuM was never started.

“The work was started when BJP-PDP Government was dismissed and Assembly was dissolved. The work was started on the intervention of Ajay Sadhotra, senior NC leader and former Minister and on the persuasion of party workers from Gole Gurjal Camp,” they said and expressed their serious concern over slow pace of work and delayed tactics.
They said that Ex-MLA Marh and other BJP workers of Marh Block are trying to give priority to their self interests over the development of Gole Gurjal. The BJP leaders have been influencing the authorities to promote their self interests which is detrimental for the development of Gole Gujral. They said NC will never compromise on speedy development of Gole Gujral.
The leaders appealed Governor Satya Pal Malik to intervene personally to ensure expeditious development of Gole Gujral under NRuM and judicious expenditure of Rs 100 crore allotted by the Government of India for the project so that the project is completed in time and funds are not lapsed.
“All codal formalities be observed while allotting the works so that State exchequer is protected from going to drains and only the works upto the amount of Rs 10 lakh be allowed to be done by the Panchayat and rest should be put to open tender,” they demanded.
