JAMMU, Jan 2: Rattan Lal Gupta, Provincial President of the National Conference, has lambasted BJP for raising unwarranted objections to the promises made by the NC to the people of Jammu and Kashmir.
While interacting with senior functionaries of the Party at Sher-e-Kashmir Bhawan Jammu, he accused BJP leadership of attempting to mislead and misguide the public while failing to deliver during its decade-long rule in the region.
“Instead of pointing fingers at the NC, BJP should come clean about what it has accomplished in J&K. Why has the BJP compromised with the job and land rights of the people of this region? It is unjustified that jobs, land, and contracts belonging to J&K have been handed over to outsiders, leaving the youth and local workforce neglected and disillusioned,” said Gupta.
He highlighted that NC, having recently taken charge of the J&K Government, boasts a robust leadership led by Chief Minister Omar Abdullah, who is personally monitoring key issues, including water and power shortages, welfare policies and addressing concerns of Kashmiri migrants. “In contrast, the BJP’s dismal performance in the Assembly polls and its inability to win seats in the Valley reflect the rejection it has faced from the people,” he added.
Rattan Lal Gupta accused the BJP of being a stumbling block to the NC-led Government’s functioning and emphasized that the party’s interference is nothing but an attempt to cover up its own inadequacies. “The BJP is scared because, in just one year, NC will outperform the BJP’s 10-year rule in J&K. The people trust NC’s vision and leadership, as evidenced by our growing support across the region,” he said.
Rattan Lal Gupta reaffirmed NC’s commitment to fulfilling the promises made during its election campaign. “Unlike the BJP, which thrives on creating chaos and division, the NC is focused on addressing the pressing issues faced by the people. With CM Omar Abdullah leading from the front, we are determined to resolve long-standing grievances and bring prosperity to J&K,” he declared.
