HIRANAGAR, Aug 6: National Conference State vice president Th Kashmira Singh today launched election campaign in Hiranagar Assembly constituency and exuded confidence about massive win for the party in the ensuing elections.
“At the strength of the policies and programmes of National Conference and the performance of Chief Minister Omar Abdullah during the past about six years, we will register a magnificent victory which will return NC Government in the State on its own”, Mr Singh said while addressing a party rally at Dyalachak for the candidate Chandu Ram this afternoon.
Mr Singh enumerated the developmental profile of the Omar led Government and said this has been remarkable in all the sectors. He particularly made a reference to the historic steps like introduction of RTI and Public Guarantee Services Act, and said that these have made the administration accountable to the people. “These measures have made the voters empowered to ask their representatives and the Government about their performance”, he maintained.
Senior National Conference leader Vijay Lochan and the party candidate Chandu Ram also addressed the rally and sought massive support for the party nominee in the constituency.
Meanwhile, National Conference candidate from R S Pura constituency Romesh Motton on Wednesday castigated BJP for false sloganeering and accused it of dividing the people on communal lines.
Addressing party workers at Ratana this afternoon, Mr Motton said the people of the constituency had been craving for development but instead their representative remained busy in inciting passions during the past nearly six years.
Mr Motton, who is also a Member of Social Welfare Advisory Board, distributed financial assistance through cheques to 25 inmates of the cutting and tailoring centre.
