BANIHAL, Jan 31: National Conference (NC) District Ramban president, Sajjad Ahmed Shaheen has demanded a critical care ambulance for Khari Tehsil to shift patients from rural health centers to big hospitals.
In a handout Shaheen said that a large number of critically ill-patients after getting primary treatment at rural hospitals are referred to big hospitals for specialized treatment but due to lack of full-fledged Critical Care Ambulance and trained health personnel precious lives are lost en-route.
He said that Khari and its peripheral areas being remote with hilly terrain and having no proper roads sans basic healthcare facilities and an alarming increase in the rate of road accidents has put lives of the residents there in risk as in case if emergency critical patients are either referred to Jammu or Srinagar for specialized treatment.
The NC leader informed that already existing inter-hospital transport is not proper.
He urged upon the LG led administration to sanction a Critical Care Ambulance for Khari without any delay to save the precious lives during transportation of patients to big hospitals.
