POONCH, July 6: Expressing concern over reports of water crisis in Rajouri and Poonch districts, NC leader, Javed Rana flayed the concerned authorities for adopting dillydally approach to deal with the problem.
He quoted reports to say that 14 villages in Rajouri and many in Poonch have acute water shortage.
Rana said, despite several protests, complaints and repeated requests the concerned officials are behaving as if nothing serious has happened “when in reality more than 50 per cent of these districts are grappling with drought-like situation”.
“In the absence of proper conservation measures most rainwater is wasted,” he maintained and hailed army for allocating water tankers to provide safe drinking water to the people.
Rana urged the Governor to intervene so that proper water supply to the people of the border districts can be ensured.
