NC leader takes stock of problems in remote areas

BANIHAL, Mar 8: NC district Ramban president, Sajjad Shaheen here today visited remote villages like Pogal, Maligam, Panla, Kunda and Narad in Tehsil Ukharhal and took stock of the problems faced by the people there after recent snowfall and heavy windstorm.
During visit the NC leader was apprised about dilapidated condition of roads, erratic power supply and lack of health care facilities in these villages.
The people there also complained about scarcity of drinking water and demanded construction of bridge over Maligam Nallah.
Shaheen said that bad condition of certain roads there has added to the miseries of the people.
The NC leader said that unscheduled power cuts have increased woes of the people living in villages Khari, Trigam, Mahu-Mangit, Sarachi, Neel, Pogal-Paristan etc.
He said that massive damage has been caused to the residential houses, schools etc in Ramban district due to windstorm and heavy rainfall.
Later on Shaheen along with DDC Pogal, Bashir Ahmed Runyal and others visited residences of the four persons killed in a tragic road accident near Maligam and offered condolence to the bereaved families.
The NC leader appealed to the administration to depute teams to the affected areas so that damage caused by the windstorm to residential houses and property could be assessed and financial assistance to the effected people could be provided at an earliest.
NC zonal vice president, Riyaz Ahmed Mir; block presidents—Nisar Ahmed Sohil and Shakib ur Rehman Runyal and others were also present on the occasion.
