BANIHAL, Mar 16: NC District Ramban president, Sajjad Shaheen toured Maligam, Panla, Ukharhal and Bass areas of Tehsil Ukharhal and took stock of the problems being faced by the people there.
People from various sections of the society met Shaheen and apprised him about their problems like shortage of drinking water and inadequate facilities of electricity, health care, shortage of essential commodities besides shortage of teaching staff in local schools.
Issue of damage caused to dozens of kanal of land and to some houses due to construction of Shalgarh-Panchal road in Adhal, Panla, Nowra, Khwrihal and Panchal was also raised and the people claimed that no compensation has been paid to the affected families so far.
People also complained about unavailability of seeds to the farmers in the entire district.
Shaheen appealed to the administration to make seeds and fertilizers available to the farmers as early as possible as the sowing season is approaching and shortage of seeds has posed a serious challenge to farmers.
He also drew the attention of LG led UT administration towards deficiencies in education and health sectors and sought immediate filling up of the vacant posts.
