NC leaders from Chenab Valley hold meet

DODA, Nov 4: The leaders of National Conference (NC) from Chenab Valley held a meeting here under the chairmanship of senior party leader and former MLA Doda, Khalid Najeeb Suharwardhy.
During the meeting, the leaders discussed strategies to counter the Government’s anti-people policies including rising prices of essential commodities. Beside this, they expressed concern over dilapidated condition of 110 KM Kishtwar-Doda-Batote stretch of National Highway.
They lambasted PDP-BJP coalition Government for its failure in pushing back the reforms of previous Government in power sector as a result of which the project of 850 MW Rattle Power Project got abandoned midway resulting into unemployment to youths engaged with said power project.
The leaders decided to work towards strengthening peace, communal harmony and brotherhood and will make people-to-people contact by way of organizing party workers/public meetings at block level. They urged upon the people to support NC’s peace initiative.
While speaking, Former MoS Sajjad Ahmed Kichloo, Ex-MLA Inderwal Qazi Jalal-ud-Din, Ex MLA Ramban Dr Chaman Lal, Zaffar Ali and other senior leaders of Doda, Kishtwar and Ramban Districts said that the present coalition Government has failed to maintain the Kishtwar-Batote road which has turned into a death trap due to its submerging at many places.
“Hand over the said road to some reputed firm for four lanning on the pattern of Jammu-Udhampur stretch of Jammu-Srinagar National Highway”, they demanded.
“It is good news that PM Narendra Modi is inaugurating the 2nd phase of 450 MW Baglihar power project on November 7. This was a dream project of State started by former Chief Minister Omar Abdullah”, said Sajjad Kichloo, adding that many developmental project started by the previous Government will soon start paying dividend to the people of State and Baghliar project is one of them.
