NC leaders visit flood affected areas

KATHUA, Aug 24: Additional general secretary, National Conference Dr Mustafa Kamaal visited various flood affected areas of tehsil Hiranagar and inspected the damage caused by the heavy rains.
Dr Kamaal along with vice president Rattan Lal Gupta and Farooq Mughal, political advisor to Dr Mustafa Kamaal inspected the damage caused to the crops and agriculture land due to heavy rains and floods in various areas of tehsil Hiranagar, which included Tarnah, Bain nallah, Haripur Sani, Kotepunoo and Shubey Chak Bellian.
Dr Kamaal assured all possible help from the Government and added that the repairing of bunds has been taken up by the Government for which JCBs and other machinery are deployed.
He also inspected Bain nallah bridge between Ghagwal and Kota and also addressed the gathering at Rakh Sarkar and Chakra.
The people apprised Dr Kamaal about their demands, which included construction of bridge over Tarnah nallah, distribution of Rs 5 crore compensation to farmers which is lying pending in the Deputy Development Kathua office since 2002.
Among others present were Dhian Chand, Ex-MLA, Bharti Sharma, Dharampal Kundal, Ramesh Chander Sharma, Shyam Lal Mehra, Bably Sharma, Karan Singh, etc.
