NC-led Govt resorting to dirty tricks: Mehbooba

SRINAGAR, Oct 23: People’s Democratic Party (PDP) president, Mehbooba Mufti has said that the NC- led Government is resorting to its dirty tricks for hoodwinking people ahead of general elections.
Addressing party workers from North Kashmir  today, the  PDP leader said that Coalition Government  has dismantled all the processes  and procedures that had been resorted to some extent to enforce transparency in the selections to Government jobs. She said the Government created a hype about creating employment to the youth  and also announced `fast track’ recruitment through different institutions.  They so called fast track recruitment has not even taken off in two years since it was announced and instead the Ministers are appointing their favourites through back door.  The Government collected crores of rupees  as the cost of application forms but nobody has so far been provided an employment, Mehbooba maintained.
The PDP president further pointed out that Government has started posting officers with known political leanings as a last resort to stay in power by hook or by crook. The political leaders from ruling parties including Ministers have somehow started appointing their favourites through backdoor even though it has no salary for thousands of casual  and seasonal workers.
Mehbooba alleged that ahead of elections in the State, the Government wants to create instability and an atmosphere of fear so that it can indulge in malpractice. She said Omar Abdullah’s war mongering and advocating attack on Pakistan is part of this design  and the present Government can go to any extent to create a disturbed situation but the people of State are now well aware of the dirty tricks  and will give a appropriate reply to the Government. Instead of advising caution  and restraint, the Chief Minister has joined the hawks in calling for an outright war. This indicates the insensitivity of the Chief Minister   towards the interests of State and its residents, she added.
