Excelsior Correspondent

JAMMU, Apr 1: A delegation of National Conference (NC) Minority Cell led by M K Yogi, its president, called on Relief and Rehabilitation Commissioner, R K Pandita, here today and discussed various problems of the displaced Pandits with him.
The delegation expressed dismay over the delaying tactics adopted by Government in settling long pending issues of the migrants. It said that migrants were facing humiliation and harassment on one pretext or the other in the name of verification, filling up of papers and other things. It said that the NFSA is being unnecessarily implemented on poor displaced people where every one in the Government is fully aware of the condition of these hapless people leading an exiled life for last over 26 years.
The delegation urged the relief authorities to release the full quota of ration immediately failing which the Minority Cell in close coordination with other Pandit bodies will come to streets in protest.
The other issues discussed included Employment Package, RBA certificates, problems of women employees in Valley, accommodation for package employees, enhancement of cash relief, allotment of shops, compensation for over aged youth, benefits of Centrally sponsored schemes to displaced community living in exile, bifurcation of ration cards and several other issues concerning the displaced community.
