JAMMU Apr 3: Inaugurating the National Conference (NC) Minority Cell Election Office, senior National Conference leader including former MLC, Vijay Bakaya and former provincial president, Rattan Lal Gupta have called for a decisive mandate for the unifying forces to counter politics of hate and divide, saying that the spirit of inclusiveness alone can steer Jammu and Kashmir out of the prevailing morass and political instability.
The two leaders inaugurated the Election Office at B. C Road, near Jewel Chowk here to facilitate the migrant voters fulfil all the requisite formalities like M-Form etc for casting their votes. The Minority Cell functionaries will provide the assistance to such voters.
The chief patron of the Minority Cell Vijay Bakaya exhorted the people to stand guard against sinister moves being perpetrated by forces inimical to the uniqueness of Kashmiriyat and strengthen the bonds of amity and brotherhood. He hoped the displaced people will come forward in a big way and endorse their commitment to safeguarding singular entity of the State and ending the era of political uncertainty. He urged the voters to come in a big way and cast their votes in favour of the party candidates, Dr Farooq Abdullah, Justice (Retd) Husnain Masoodi and Mohammed Akbar Lone respectively from Srinagar, Anantnag and Baramulla Lok Sabha constituencies.
Speaking on the occasion, State Secretary Rattan Lal Gupta cautioned against the attempts being made to divide people, generate mistrust and hate between various segments of society and to exploit religious sentiments. Provincial secretary Sheikh Basher, Anil Dhar vice president and Bhushan Lal Bhat Sarpanch and M K Yogi NC Minority president also spoke on the occasion.
