SAMBA, Dec 15: Apni Party provincial president and former Minister, Manjit Singh today took on the National Conference (NC) for misleading the people of Jammu and Kashmir once again on revoking Public Safety Act (PSA) if they came to power.
“When the NC was in power and ruling the erstwhile State of J&K, they put behind the bars the innocent people under PSA and did not care for them while enjoying the rule in the erstwhile State,” he said while addressing a public meeting at Tanda Burj village in Samba.
He said that “As the Assembly polls are approaching Jammu and Kashmir, the NC has again started to rub salt on the wounds of the people by raking up the issue of PSA.”
“The NC has used PSA and POTA as a tool to harass and imprison the innocent people in J&K. As they have lost political ground, the party has again started emotional blackmailing of the people to return to power. The people of J&K are aware of the divisive agenda of NC, Congress Party, PDP and BJP,” he said.
He said that “It is unfortunate that the traditional political parties have created a wedge with their slogans and false assurances among the people of two regions. The Apni Party is working hard to bring the people of two regions together for the sake of stability, peace and development,” he added.
He said that “The people have shown their overwhelming response to the Apni Party and its leadership Syed Mohammed Altaf Bukhari. The people have faith in the party’s agenda and policies with regard to equitable development, protection of natural resources, employment reservation for locals, implementation of the Social Security Scheme and ending the disparity among the regions.”
He demanded that the elections must end the feeling of alienation and restoration of Statehood will bring back the lost faith of the people in the Government.
Prominent among those who attended the meeting include district president, Samba, Raman Thappa, Ramgarh Assembly candidate, and district president Legal Cell, Samba, Sahil Bharti, Lavli Mangol, Block president Capt (retd) Mohan Lal Sharma, Block president Ramgarh, Bachan Choudhary, Sarpanch Vijaypur, Capt (retd) Joginder Lal, District President Youth, Mangat Ram and others.
