JAMMU, Oct 6: National Conference MLC Dr Shehnaz Ganai today condemned Jammu and Kashmir Police for denying admit cards to youths for appearing in physical tests of constables in Indian Reserve Police for not possessing State Subject certificates, which were under process.
In a statement, Dr Ganai pointed out that it was standard procedure for all Government departments to allow youths to appear in any test with ‘under process State subjects’. The State subjects, she said, can be produced at the time of final selection.
Dr Ganai said 274 students, mostly drawn from the rural areas have been deprived by Jammu and Kashmir police from appearing in October 8 physical test for the post of constables only for the reasons that their State Subjects were under process and haven’t been prepared by the authorities.
“The making of State Subjects takes a lot of time in view of the formalities,’’ the National Conference MLC said, adding that police department should allow these youths to appear in the physical test with the direction that they would produce State Subjects, if selected.
Dr Ganai said she also spoke to State Home Secretary RK Goyal seeking his intervention in the matter.
