NC organizes one-day women convention

KISHTWAR, July 10: National Conference Women wing today organised one day women convention at Sher-i-Kashmir Bhawan, in which thousands of women workers participated.
On the occasion, Dr Sheikh Mustafa Kamaal, additional secretary, National Conference, was the chief guest, while Rattan Lal Gupta, provincial president, was the guest of honour.
In the day long deliberations the women workers highlighted their day to day issues and assured that they will work in their respective areas to strengthen the party.
While speaking, Laxmi Dutta, organizer of the convention, presented the welcome address and highlighted the achievements of the women wing.
Dr Mustafa Kamaal in his speech said that women folk is capable to participate in every field whether it will be Army, Para Military Forces, Police, Banking system, etc.
He said that the recently result of combined services in State showed girls are topper in the list, which is encouraging. He assured the women folk that he would take up their issues with the Chief Minister for early redressal.
Rattan Lal Gupta, provincial NC president while speaking, said that J&K State has reserved 50 per cent seats for girl candidates in medical colleges besides 33 per cent reservation is provided in panchayats and local bodies.
Among others present were Sheikh Bashir Ahmed, provincial secretary, Jugal Mahajan, Kashmira Singh, former MLC, Pardeep Bali, Daljeet Sharma, Kuldeep Kour, Khursheeda Begum, Rashida Begum, Manveer Kour, etc.
