SRINAGAR, Oct 25: The Jammu and Kashmir National Conference president and Member Parliament from Srinagar, Dr Farooq Abdullah and vice president Omar Abdullah paid rich tribute to noted religious scholar, political and social leader Late Maulana Muhammad Abbas Ansari on his first death anniversary.
In their message, the duo recalled Late Ansari’s deep engagement with the issues deeply rooted in religious and cultural pluralism of J&K. His great efforts to bridge the sectarian divisions will be remembered for all the times to come, they added. They prayed for peace to the departed soul in the highest echelons of `Jannat’.
Among others Party general secretary Ali Mohd Sagar, additional general secretary Dr Sheikh Mustafa Kamal, Provincial president Nasir Aslam Wani, chief spokesperson Tanvir Sadiq have also paid glowing tribute to Late Ansari.
Meanwhile, Party’s chief spokesperson Tanvir Sadiq offered Fatiha and floral tribute at the final resting place of the Late Maulana Abbas Ansari. Joined by a number of party’s local unit functionaries, he visited the Ansari’s house and commiserated with the family, particularly Chairman of J&K Ittaihad Ul Muslimeen, Maulana Masroor Abbas Ansari.
