NC, PDP misleading people on Article 370: Balbir

Excelsior Correspondent

JAMMU, Dec 15: The people of Jammu and Kashmir have realised that the regional political  parties, particularly National Conference (NC) and People’s Democratic Party (PDP), have, in fact, totally turned politically defunct and issueless and their leaders are now seen working round the clock to regain faith of the people  for their political survival.
Balbir Ram Rattan, spokesperson of Jammu and Kashmir BJP, said this while informing the people of the UT, particularly those of Kashmir, that it has been the past practice of Valley based regional parties to make  emotional and misleading statements just to seek favour of the people. The fact is that, none of them have, ever taken any interest or shown concern in real development and welfare of the masses of Jammu and Kashmir.
“In view of the reports of holding elections in near future, the NC and PDP leaders are finding it difficult to identify the real issues”, Balbir said and added that such parties should not be trusted as their past working itself speaks of dual standards and their leaders indulging in politics of emotions and lies.
Balbir said that these are the same political parties, which, misled the people for decades on the slogans of ‘Autonomy’  and ‘Self-Rule’.
They are now raising the issue of restoration of Article 370, thus making repeated attempts to once again to mislead the people only for the vote bank politics.
The BJP spokesperson said that the J&K people have welcomed the abrogation of Article 370 except a handful of those who always ran their political shops on such issues.
Balbir said that it would be better for the leaders of NC and PDP to accept and appreciate that after the abrogation of Article 370, many sections of the society, especially refugees and women, have been benefitted, national symbols have got real respect, democracy has reached at the grass roots levels, Panchayati Raj Institutions have been strengthened and so on.
