NC policies remain people friendly: Kamal

JAMMU, Aug 16: Additional general secretary, State National Conference, Dr Mustafa Kamal, said that from land to tiller Act by Sheikh Abdullah in 1950 to Public Service Guarantee Act by Chief Minister, Omar Abdullah, the policies of National Conference (NC) have remained people friendly and progressive.
He was addressing a public meeting at Samba, organised by senior NC leader and provincial vice-president of Women Wing of Party, Satwant Kaur Dogra.
He said that the vision of a prosperous, self-reliant farmer was seen and realized by NC’s founder, the late Sheikh Mohd Abdullah and lakhs of poor tillers from the State took benefit of the land reforms made by him. He further said that the present Coalition Government headed by Omar Abdullah has ensured the curb on the menace of corruption by enforcing several laws like RTI, PSGA, SAC and State Vigilance commission, adding that people should take full advantage of this Act.
Appealing people to maintain communal harmony and remain vigilant to the nefarious designs of parties like BJP, PDP, Panthers Party and others, who always are on a look out for disturbing peace and normalcy in the State, Dr Kamal urged the people to support the initiatives of Omar Abdullah to make the State peaceful and progressive.
Provincial president, NC, Rattan Lal Gupta recounted the achievements of the Omar Abdullah led Government during his address said that the State is destined to surpass all records of development made in the State and reach newer heights of peace and prosperity.
Satwant Kour Dogra highlighted numerous problems faced by the people of the Constituency regarding erratic power supply, irrigation water from Ravi river, blacktopping of roads in border belt besides connecting villages like Smotha, Karar, Rayor, Sodametc with roads.
Meanwhile, Dr Kamal inaugurated Party office at Samba and many youth including panches of the Constituency joined NC in his presence.
