JAMMU, Nov 17: Senior BJP leader and former Deputy Chief Minister, Kavinder Gupta today asked the NC Government to focus on development and mitigating people’s problems instead of wasting time and resources by raising pointless issues, having no role in improving the life of a common man.
The BJP leader was addressing a meeting during his visit to Marh constituency to oversee Saffron party’s Sadasyata Abhiyan, which is presently underway across the Union Territory. Surinder Bhagat, MLA Marh, Vinay Gupta Prabhari, Nihal Singh, Vikram Singh and Amarjit Kour were also present.
Kavinder said that NC leadership should respect the mandate given by the people by addressing their issues and demands rather than indulging into ‘dirty politics’ by again and again raising the same old issue of Article 370. He said that the point has been made clear by PM Narendra Modi and Home Minister, Amit Shah that the Article 370 is the prerogative of Centre and any State or UT Government has no role in deciding its fate, which has already been decided and is final.
He asked the NC Government to concentrate on development of the UT and redressal of the grievances of the people, which is its solemn duty and Dharma and leave the rest for the Government at the Centre.
Later, Kavinder asked the BJP leaders to take the membership drive very seriously as achieving the target of making every single person primary member of the party who had voted for BJP in the recently concluded Assembly elections.
Surinder Bhagat, MLA Marh, in his address, said that BJP activists are taking due pain in making the Sadasyata Abhiyan a great success in the constituency. He assured that BJP will come out with flying colours in all the upcoming political contests starting from the Panchayat and ULB polls, which are on cards.
