SRINAGAR, June 11: Senior National Conference leader and Minister for Rural Development Ali Mohammad Sagar today said that the party leaders will launch a door to door campaign to strength the party at the grassroots and will bring the disgruntled workers back into the fold.
“Some party workers who have been associated with this party for decades are disgruntled with the party, we should focus on them and bring them into the party fold,” Sagar said.
He said that they have discussed politics a lot, now their focus should be to listen to the workers who are the main foundation of the party.
While paying tribute to late Mirza Mohammad Afzal Beg and late Khawaja Ghulam Mohi ud din Shah of NC at party headquarters here, Sagar said to remember their contribution for the party and its workers, the party should be friendly with the people of Jammu and Kashmir and to work as per their aspirations.
“To remember both Beg and Shah, the party workers should join hands to make their dreams come true by making the party flag strong in every nook and corner of the state,” Sagar said.
Criticizing the people of South Kashmir for their support to main opposition People’s Democratic Party (PDP), he said that the people of South Kashmir don’t have the political vision for choosing their government.
Praising the NC party for having the historic background, minister for CAPD and Transport, Ch Mohammad Ramzan lambasted PDP’s policy of misleading the people of state. “There are some people roaming in the market like Mufti Mohammad Syed and Sajad Lone, to exploit people of state,” Ramzan said.
Minister also said that PDP was the creation of BJP to carry out genocide in state. “PDP is still in confusion, as they themselves don’t know where they came from, and what their agenda is for people,” he said.
Speaking on the occasion, NC General Secretary, Dr Mustafa Kamal said that New Delhi should start dialogue process will Nawaz Sharif, the new Prime Minister of Pakistan for resolving Kashmir issue and it should open routes to other parts of Kashmir for people to cross LoC and carry out trade.
“I heard that Government is planning to construct ‘All Weather Fencing’ on the LoC, my request to them is that we don’t need ‘All Weather Fencing’ at LoC, but we need ‘All Weather Friendship’ with them,” Kamal said.
On the sidelines of the function, NC Provincial President, Nasir Aslam Wani rejected the possibility of early elections in the state. “Why the election will be held before its stipulated time, the election will be held on its due time, but not before,” he said.
