NC to uplift down-trodden, poor people: Rattan Lal

JAMMU Aug 28: Provincial president of J&K National Conference, Rattan Lal sharply criticized the present administration for its failure to uplift the poor and downtrodden sections of society.
Speaking at a joining program at SK Bhawan today, Gupta expressed great disappointment over the government’s failure to provide adequate opportunities for these marginalized groups in terms of employment, education and social security. He said that the BJP Govt ernment has miserably failed to uplift the weaker sections in its ten years of rule in the country.
The senior NC leader highlighted the National Conference’s unwavering commitment to the socio-economic empowerment of the marginalized. He said “The downtrodden and the poor represent a significant section of our population that has been consistently deprived of basic necessities such as livelihood, education, property and employment opportunities.”
He emphasized that the National Conference has always been at the forefront of taking bold initiatives to elevate the status of these communities, providing them with equal opportunities for growth and development.
Reflecting on the party’s historical contributions, Rattan Lal Gupta pointed to the landmark land reforms introduced by the National Conference, which were instrumental in empowering the weaker sections of society. “Our party has a rich legacy of serving the poor with sincerity and dedication and we pledge to continue this mission by ensuring social justice and economic equality”, he affirmed.
The Provincial president also outlined the key promises made by the National Conference in its manifesto. “We are committed to providing Rs 5,000 in financial assistance to every household falling under the Economically Weaker Sections (EWS) category, 12 free LPG cylinders to EWS families and enhance medical allowance of employees from Rs 300 to Rs 1000”, he added.
Earlier, a well known social activist and ex-Serviceman Asha Singh joined the National Conference, pledging to work towards strengthening the party’s mission.
Prominent those who were present include; Sheikh Bashir Ahmad, Pardeep Bali, Ayub Malik  Abdul Gani Teli, Vijay Laxami Datta and others.
