NC will not allow anyone to divide J&K: Omar

SRINAGAR:
Former Chief Minister Omar Abdullah today said his National Conference would never allow anyone to divide the State for petty political interests and would continue to safeguard the special status guaranteed under Article 370.
“Nobody can dare divide this State till National Conference exists and we will fight all such covert designs with full might and conviction,” Omar said at the launch of party’s membership drive here.
The working president of National Conference said the party has taken the route of struggle, sacrifice and ideology to become the custodian of the State’s interests and rights.
“We will continue on that path with greater commitment and dedication. Our workers are our biggest strength and it is due to their unflinching faith and efforts that National Conference has always risen after every challenge in our history,” he said.
Lashing out at the PDP-BJP Government, Omar said every single promise —  “political, economic or governance related” – made by Chief Minister Mufti Mohammad Sayeed before the elections or on the occasion of his “sell-out to BJP” stands broken.
“Be it the promise of AFSPA revocation, dialogue with separatists, opening of additional trade routes, the rehabilitation of flood victims or of ensuring that BJP does not continue its nefarious mission against Article 370, Mufti has broken every single promise that he made to the people of Jammu and Kashmir,” he alleged.
