JAMMU, Sept 14: A deputation of women workers from Sunderbani/ Nowshera area led by Laxmi Dutta, Provincial President, National Conference Women’s Wing met Deputy Commissioner and apprised him about the problems being faced by the farmers of border areas.
The delegation apprised DC that the farmers of this belt are sufferers due to intermittent firing and also due to unscheduled rain.
Government should take time action to assess the losses and special survey should be conducted, so as to provide some relief to the farmers, they demanded.
DC gave patient hearing and assured them that whatever is possible would be done. He also assured them that he would take up the issue with the DC, Rajouri so that they will take timely measures also.
Among others present were Khursheeda Begum District President Rajouri Rural, Sapna Block President Sunderbani and others.
