NC women workers’ meet held

BISHNAH, Mar 6: A public meeting of women workers of National Conference led by MLA Bimla Luthra was held at village Maghal was here today to take stock of the grievances of the women folk of the area.
During the meeting, workers apprised the MLA about many problems including road connectivity, widow pension, poor power supply and need of more tailoring centres.
Bimla assured the women workers that all their genuine demands would be redressed soon. She also announced that construction of lanes and drains, cleanliness of canal and other pending works will be taken up soon.
Addressing the workers Bimla informed them of various development policies and programmes launched by the Government for the far-flung areas of the State. Referring to the schemes like self help groups, which has the potential to generate employment and give fillip to women entrepreneurship, she exhorted the women to come forward and avail the benefits of the schemes.
She urged them to strengthen the hands of Chief Minister, Omar Abdullah, which is committed for the upliftment of the women folk of the State.
