JAMMU, Mar 11: Annual Training Camp (ATC) of National Cadet Corps (NCC) organised by 3 J&K Bn NCC Baramulla from March 10 to 16, 2021 at Army Camp location in Boniyar under the aegis of NCC Group Headquarter Srinagar and NCC Directorate Jammu-Kashmir and Ladakh is underway.
Local Army formation is rendering full support to the Camp and the last such Camp was held in 2009 at Boniyar.
A total of 110 Cadets from schools and colleges of Baramulla, Uri, Handwara, Tangmarg, Tangdhar, Kupwara, Lolab, Bandipora, Pattan, Sopore and Boniyar are participating in the Camp.
After training the Cadets will be eligible to attend ‘B’ & ‘C’ certificate examination to be held later in the month.
The camp commenced with conduct of Rapid Corona Test of all Cadets and staff conducting the Camp by a team of Block Medical Officers, Boniyar.
The Camp commandant Col. Ravinder Singh briefed the Cadets on the schedule of training and the mode of conduct during the Camp.
He laid emphasis on preventive measures like maintaining social distance, wearing masks and washing of hand regularly.
The Commandant talked on positive thinking, self learning, acquiring general awareness, social service and community development activities.
A handout stated that the Cadets will undergo physical training, drill, weapon training, firing, map reading and grooming to instil confidence in them.
To commemorate the successful completion of 50 years of 1971 ops, activities like, debate, painting and show casing of movie is planned.
Decorated Army officers and special speakers shall address the Cadets during the training. The Cadets shall be exposed to conduct of social services and community development programme like tree plantation and Swachh Bharat Abhiyan.
A visit to NHPC at Boniyar is planned for these Cadets during the camp. Visit by senior Army officers of the Group Headquarter NCC Srinagar and Army formation at Baramulla is also scheduled to inspire the cadets.
