JAMMU, Jan 31:  The J&K contingent comprising of 101 NCC Cadets returned back from New Delhi after participating in various events and competitions in the run up to the Republic Day Parade culminating in the Prime Minister’s Rally.
The contingent brought laurels to the State by their excellence in various competitions.  The contingent secured second position in ‘Line Area Competition’ and third position in ‘Flag Area Competition’.
The contingent was felicitated for their achievements in a function held at NCC Camping Ground Nagrota today.  Maj Gen Neeraj Verma, Additional Director General, NCC J&K complimented the Cadets, Officers, Associated NCC Officers and the staff for their outstanding performance.
The Junior Division (Boys) and Junior Wing (Girls) secured sixth position in Drill Competition.  In the cultural events competition, the cadets bagged first position in Ballet event and stood third overall.
Cadet Meenal Sharma was adjudged best Master of the ceremony.
In the ‘Best Cadet Competition’ Cadet Saquib Jan of Junior Division secured second position and Cadet Priya Jamwal, Junior Wing secured third position.  In the Senior Division, Cadet Shubham Sharma secured third place.
The cadets selected from three regions of the State were put through an intense and rigorous training at Camping Ground, Nagrota under the supervision of a selected team of Officers, Associated NCC Officers and other staff to include well trained and dedicated Drill Instructors from White Knight Corps and Tiger Division.
