NCMAMS-2015 concludes at JU

JAMMU, Mar 4: The three day “National Conference on Microscopy & Advances in Material Sciences” (NCMAMS – 2015) organized by Crystal Growth & Material Research Lab in association with Electron Microscopy Society of India – North Zone Chapter and the UGC – SAP programme at Department of Physics & Electronics, University of Jammu, concluded here today.
Prof K K Bamzai, Convener of the conference, presented valedictory speech while   Prof Vivek K Gupta, HoD Department of Physics & Electronics, talked about the department and the activities going on in the department.   Prof Naresh Padha also addressed the participants in the conference.
Chief Guest Dr Ram A Vishwakarma, Director, Indian Institute of Integrative Medicine (IIIM), Jammu addressed the audience with his enlightened words.
The first technical session of the third day of national conference was chaired by Prof Naresh Padha. This session had two invited talks by Dr Vinay Kumar of SMVDU Katra and Dr Bharat Parekh of Pandit Deendayal Petroleum University, Gadhinagar Gujarat. This was followed by oral presentation by Dr M Ikram of Department of Physics, National Institute of Technology, Hazratbal Srinagar.
The next technical session was chaired by Prof P N Kotru. This session had the two invited talks by Dr Yugal Khajuria of School of Physics, SMVDU and Prof Naresh Padha of JU.
Participants from different parts the country presented their work in terms of Posters. About 84 posters were presented in the poster session, conducted during the conference. The Best Poster Award was given to “Flexible Solar Cells Based on P3HT: PCBM Bulk Hetero Junction” by Vishal Sharma of Delhi University. First consolation prize was given to “Bipolar Resistive Switching in Graphene Oxide Based Thin Films Devices” by Puja Sani of Delhi University and second prize to “Influence of Crystallite Size on Acetone Sensing Properties of ZNO Nanomaterials” by Naveen of Kuvempu University.
The vote of thanks was presented by Dr  Deepa Singh.
