NCP leader D P Tripathi expires, Supriya Sule condoles demise of senior colleague

NEW DELHI : Senior NCP leader and former MP Prof D P Tripathi passed away here in the capital on Thursday after a prolonged illness, party sources said.
NCP lawmaker Supriya Sule condoled the demise of her senior colleague saying – “Deeply Saddened to hear about the demise of Shri.D.P Tripathi Ji. He was the General Secretary of NCP and a guide and mentor to all of us”
“We will miss his wise counsel and guidance which he had given us from the day NCP was established. May he rest in peace. My thoughts and prayers with his family members. Heartfelt Condolences,” Ms Sule tweeted.
Born on January 6, 1954, Tripathi was Rajya Sabha member between April 2012 and April 2018.
As a student, Tripathi was president of Jawaharlal Nehru University Students’ Union and later taught at Allahabad University.
At one point, Late Tripathi became one of former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi’s aides but left the Congress in 1999 and joined the Nationalist Congress Party then floated by Sharad Pawar and two of his associates Tariq Anwar and Late P A Sangma. (AGENCIES)
