NC’s autonomy to three regions not acceptable to general public: AAP

JAMMU, Dec 22: The members of the Aam Aadmi Party held a meeting and said that the National Conference’s autonomy to three region of J&K is not acceptable to the general public of the State.
They further stated that it was the NC which ruled the State far more than 35 years during which several accords of destruction of democratic institutions, democratic edifices and democratic conventions took place.
The meeting was attended by Deep Singh, Ram Singh Chauhan, Farooq Ahmed Banday, Kuldeep Kumar Rao, Om Parkash Khajuria, Mehraj Malik, Paramveer Singh, Harneek Singh, SS Jamwal, Mehar Singh, Ram Pal Khajuria, Sunder Sain, CL Sharma, Rahul Sharma and Amit Langer.
They stated that it was in the year 1975 when Sheikh Mohd Abdullah was sworn in as Chief Minister when NC has not even a single legislator in the Assembly, adding that in the year 1987, the accord between Farooq Abdullah and Rajiv Gandhi, the then Prime Minister of India resorted to unprecedented riggings in assembly elections which gave birth to militancy and several militant organization within and outside the State causing death and destruction for last about three decades.
“We are strongly in favour of decentralization of powers up to grass root level into the hands of public representatives duly elected by public in a democratic manner with constitutional guarantee of Institutional governance”, they said and questioned why complete three tier Panchayati Raj system is not in vogue in the State for last 70 years?.
The members appealed to the masses to take a clear stand in the next ensuing parliament and assembly elections.
