JAMMU, Mar 20: A National Conference on Trends in Electronics and Computational Technologies (NCTECT-2015) was held today at University of Jammu.
The conference, organized by Institution of Electronics and Telecommunication Engineers (IETE) Jammu Centre in collaboration with Ramnagar Campus of JU, was inaugurated by the Vice-Chancellor Prof R D Sharma. Prof Rajni Kant, Chief-coordinator campuses and Rector, Ramnagar Campus, JU, presided over the function while Maj Gen (Retd.) P K Jaggia, Secretary General IETE, New Delhi,was the guest of honour.
The VC laid stress on such interdisciplinary activities on the campus and said that the theme of the conference was appropriate in the present scenario.
Prof Rajni Kant laid special emphasis on the role of faculty at Ramnagar Campus who are teaching MCA course sometimes under difficult circumstances.
Maj Gen P K Jaggia, in his remarks, focused on various activities undertaken by IETE at the national level.
Earlier, Dr Rakesh Vaid, chairman, IETE Jammu Centre and convener of the conference introduced the topic and threw light on the theme of the conference.
Dr Parveen Lehana, honorary secretary of the IETE Jammu centre and organizing secretary of the conference, informed that a total of fifty eight presentations are scheduled which include keynote address by Prof Satish Chand from NSIT, New Delhi, Dr Shashi B Rana from GNDU, Amritsar and Dr Suresh Kumar from Kurukshetra University.
Deepika Sharma, Treasure IETE Jammu Centre, presented the vote of thanks while the proceeding of the programme was conducted by Dr Radhika Khanna.
J K Sharma, Prof S K Badyal, Joy Ganjoo, Prof Pawnesh Abrol, Dr Suresh Rao, Dr Susheel Sharma, Er Vijay Sharma, Dr Rockey Gupta, Er Summet Gupta, Er Joyti Lalotra, faculty members from Ramnagar campus, and others attended the inaugural function.
