Sinha pays obeisance at Mahalakshmi temple

JAMMU, Mar 1: In a series of meetings at Raj Bhawan, Jammu and Kashmir, a range of stakeholders voiced their concerns to Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha, reflecting a commitment to inclusive governance and development.
Rekha Sharma, Chairperson of the National Commission for Women, and Ajit Singh, Chairman of the Sikh Coordination Committee Jammu and Kashmir, brought forth pressing issues.
Ajit Singh highlighted the inclusion of Pahari-speaking Sikhs from Tehsil Rohama and Dangiwacha in the Pahari ethnic group. Meanwhile, Singh emphasized welfare issues and Gurdwara property rights.
Gaurav Gupta, Secretary of Jammu Club, addressed critical growth challenges and disparities in tourism promotion between Jammu and Kashmir regions.
He commended recent developments but urged smoother execution of tourism projects and equal social media promotion.
Additionally, Gupta advocated for winter tourism development in areas like Doda and Bhadarwah, proposing international summits and infrastructure enhancements to leverage Jammu’s natural beauty and economic potential.
The Lieutenant Governor assured proactive measures and diligent addressing of raised concerns, reflecting a commitment to equitable growth and development in the Union Territory.
Shamsher Singh Manhas, former Member of Parliament Rajya Sabha also called on Lieutenant Governor.
A delegation of the office bearers of BJP Mahila Morcha including Sanjita Dogra, Anu Radha Charak, Veenu Khanna, Reema Padha and Neha Mahajan also called on the Lt Governor.
Chander Mohan Gupta, senior BJP leader and former Mayor JMC was also present.
Bali Bhagat, former Minister called on Lieutenant Governor.
Subsequently, Riyaaz Bashir Naaz, Member District Development Council Poonch also met the Lt Governor Manoj Sinha and expressed gratitude to the Prime Minister and Lt Governor-led UT Administration for the 50-bedded Critical Care Block coming up at District Hospital Poonch.
The members of the delegation led by Naaz also put forth various issues of public importance including extension of working period of seasonal educational volunteers.
Rajinder Sharma, former Mayor JMC and Vijay Saraf, Executive Member, Indian Red Cross Society Jammu also called on the Lt Governor.
Meanwhile, Lieutenant Governor paid obeisance at Mahalakshmi Temple Pacca Danga Jammu, today.
He also attended the 28th Pavitra Sthapna Diwas of Shri Mata Chandi and prayed for peace, prosperity, happiness and well-being of one and all.
Members of the Sarv Shakti Chandi Mata Mandir Committee Jammu, political leaders, prominent citizens and people from all walks of life were present.
